The Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals warned Doctor Sukhdarshan Bedi suk-DAR-shen BEY-di, owner of Rosebush Gardens Health Center in April it would revoke the centers license unless he filed an appeal within 30 days. Bedi never did.
State officials met with residents and their families this week. They its in the residents best interest to stay there for now, but state inspectors are around to make sure there is adequate staff and equipment.
Center administrators say talks are underway with a Cedar Rapids company to buy out the nursing home.
The facility could also lose eligibility to receive Medicaid and Medicare funding if it doesn’t meet minimum standard care requirements by June 17.
